Words of wisdom

Hello Everyone!

Yesterday, I was out shopping with my friend, when this elderly man stopped us. I thought he was asking for directions, but I was wrong, he was there to teach us a life lesson.

He was asking if we were in college, and what courses we were taking, and if we liked the course. We both said ‘Yes’, but he said that did we love it, because in life we have our own path, and we should all do things that we love. This got my brain thinking, it got me thinking of all the things I love doing in life.

He carried onto say about his life, and how he was like when he was growing up. He was telling us about the times he had mucked up, and that he got sentenced to some months in jail because of his decisions. He was telling us how we all make mistakes in life, but it does not define who we are, and that just because of that one decision we make, it does not mean we have to stick with that label for the rest of our lives.

He was saying that he knows the elderly are too quick to judge, but they should not be. They were all young once too, is what he was saying, and that we learn through our mistakes, and get better through our achievements.

He ended telling us that we are all unique, and that there is no other person like us in this world, and that is the best thing, as we can set our own paths, and that we don’t have to fit in if we dont want to. Telling us that it is brilliant we are all unique, and that we should not care about others and their opinions when it comes to who we are.

John, if you ever see this, thank you, you made me think about myself, and who I am as a person. You are a very inspirational man.
